Katrina Siliprandi (1950-2017)

Today, at 11am, I attended the ceremony at Greenacres Colney to celebrate the life of Katrina Siliprandi.
She was my dynamic, inspirational boss at the Learning Dept of Norwich Castle for 10 years. In June 2016 she was diagnosed with cancer and passed away on 19th July 2017.
Kind, funny and incredibly generous to the huge amount of people she worked with, taught or mentored over her 30 plus years career, she was the best boss ever and one of the wisest people I’ve known. Katrina also had the rare ability to listen attentively and empathise.
Among the million things she achieved at Norfolk Museums Service were the pioneering Youth Offenders animation workshops and the Summer Schools for Looked After Children, and she co-curated exhibitions that attempted to break down elitist museum tendencies- such as the PLEASE TOUCH exhibition. Social Inclusion was very high on her agenda.
Katrina was that rare phenomenon: a manager with a social conscience. I will miss her.
